PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE DANCE.

Tho staff of the Public Trust Office held their annual dance in the Sydney street schoolroom last night, ino hall was crowded with some live hundred or so guests, and dancing during tno earlier part of tho evening was fraught with some danger to chiifons and spangles. Large flags hung all .round the room made a most effectual decoration, and tho lights were covered with Chinese paper shades. Supper was served downstairs. . , , Lady Ward, who was accompanied by Sir Joseph Ward, wore a gown of black velvet, the corsage encrusted with jet. A largo purple rose made an effective note of colour on the bodice, and she wore a sealskin coat. Miss Eileen Ward was in gold satin with tunic of dewdrop chiffon, and bodice trimmings of crystal embroidery. Mrs Pitchott wore striped jetted ninon over floral silver tissue, with white lace on the bodice. Among those present were Mrs Poynton blue voile and a grey opera coat with Oriental trimming; Mrs Ronaldson, black silk; Mrs Fordham, black silk and jet; Mrs Purdie. pink; Mrs Greyille, navy blue taffetas chiffon; Mrs Wilkie Watson. black; Mrs Maclntyre, floral dewdrop chiffon over dull blue; Miss Nash, black ninon over white, and a red silk scarf; Miss Mclnerney, black velvet; Miss Martelli, shot grey and pink ninon with pearl headdress; Miss Downes,pale green glace with trimming of crystal and pink roses; Miss Meyer, violet ninon over deep cream charmeuse, with a gold osprey in her hair; Miss St. Gooigo, white satin and silver; Miss Gooch, blue over green; Miss Chapman, pale pink ninon; Miss Oakley-Browne, yellow silk with spangled overdress, and her sister in heliotrope, with floral chiffon tunic; Miss Burr, white charmeuse with silver trimming-; Miss Lennox, deep cherry chiffon with floral patterned scarves; Miss D.
