NAVAL ARMAMENTS
SUGGESTED AUSTRIAN AGREEMENT WITH BRITAIN.
(Received July 31, 11 p.m.) VIENNA, July 31. The “Pester Lloyd,” a Budapest journal which is regarded as the organ of the Austro-Hungarian Foreign Office, strongly urges the conclusion of an agreement by which Austria and Hungary would promise not to increase their naval armaments beyond the present programme and Britain would declare the Austro-Hungarian navy, if pacific, unexposed to British attack.
