SYDNEY, Monday.—Makura (1 p.m.), for Auckland.

The Manuka sailed from San Francisco last Wednesday for Wellington and Sydney via ports. The auxiliary scow Echo arrived at New Plymouth at 7.30 a.m. yesterday from Mo* kau, and is to sail to-morrow for Mokau to load timber for From here sho will go to West Haven to load for Wellington. The Echo will subsequently make a trip from West Haven to Blenheim. »

Captain Gibson, formerly of the Mana, who has been acting-pilot at Patea, to take charge of tho Hawera at Patea to-day to permit Captain Jackson to go on holiday leave. Pilot Tinned, of Pnlea, has just completed his annual holiday. The Hineznoa finished lauding lighthouse stores at Capo Maria yesterday, and sailed at noon for Kaipara, Onenunga, and Wellington. She is due here towards the end of next week.

Mr Q. McDonald, the third officer of the Talune. was taken to the Auckland hoe* pltal upon arrival of the steamer from the Cook and Society Group on Friday morning. Mr McDonald had been confined to bed for some days previous to the steamer's arrival.

Mr 8. Mahood has joined the Waitemata as third officer in order to relieve Mr G, A. Gray, who left the vessel at Lyttelton to sit for his chief mate's examination.

The Arahura arrived at Greymouth at 10 a.m. yesterday from Wellington via ports, and sailed at 9 p.m. on the return trip. She is due here before 10 o’clock to-morrow evening. The Poberua left Greymouth last night for Lyttelton. The Kittawa left Greymouth last evening for Westport and Onchunga. The Kaituna is to leave Greymouth on Thursday for Sydney and Melbourne.

The Waimana left London on the 16th Instant for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin via Australia. She is due »t Wellington about September 20th. ROTOITTS ALTERATIONS. The Rotoiti was taken up on the Wellington patent sUp yesterday, and is to be relaunched on Thursday. Very extensive alterations aro being made so as to add first-class accommodation for sixty additional passengers in that portion of the vessel used as No. 2 hold. Access to the new accommodation will be through the first-class dining saloon. The undertaking will occupy about another three weeks to complete. The Rotoiti will then be token over by the Northern Company for their Whangarei-Auckland service. ROTORUA FOR LONDON.
