CREWE BY-ELECTION
HOW CANDIDATES ACCOUNT FOB RESULT. LONDON. July 28. Mr Craig, in a speech after the declaration of the, result of the Crewe election, attrJMited his victory to his advocacy of tariff reform and preference to the Oversea Dominions. Mr Murphy (Liberal) said the result was due to a split in the Progressive party. Mr Holmes (Labor) stated that many of the workers had voted for the Liberal candidate fearing Mr Craig would win.
