FEOM OUB OWN COEBESPONDENT. July 29. A movement is on foot in Mils ter ton to ask the Welliugton Education Board to establish a high school in Master* ton. The Wellington Warehousemen’s Association has donated JES 5s to the prize fund of the Carterton A. and P. Association. There are at present twenty-eight patients, including four cases of fever, In the Masterton hospital. The Ihuraua road is at present blocked by slips, and traffic has been suspended. The Masterton A. and P. Association will in future hold its annual meeting in the month of August instead of July. Tho Foresters' Lodge has presented Bro. Many other minor acts of vandalism are reported. _ , At tiro b.M. Court this morning a youth named Eoy Geary was charged with having been drunk and disorderly in Queen street at midnight on Saturday. From the evidence of the police it appeared accused was with men named Jesse Lew, Sid Cross, and others in Queen street, and was shouting out and singing. On two occasions ho was warned by the police,' and after taking no notice he was arrested. The bench severely reprimanded accused and discharged him. The police stated that accused had been warned several time* on previous occasion* as to his conduct in the streets.
