Sir,—A paragraph in your Saturday's Issue so grossly misrepresents the "evening News' that as it might possibly go uncorrouted 1 must ask leave to correct it lor you. You state mat .air H. Howard Huptay, of Bannevirao, wrote to the “News" stating that had tho local clergymen assemulcd at the Town Hail on bumiay ween tuey would have “taken away enough food lor nuy-two sermons," and that we did not publish the letter. May 1 be permuted to imoriu you mat we received no letter irom “Mr Howard Hupley" that we did not puuiisli, but a letter s.gucd “H. Howard noips.ey" was puousned in our columns on VVeuuesday, Jmy iwui, tho day alter it reached this office. This letter deprecated me views uttered by a local clergyman reeardmg your bunday lecture, but made no statement oi tue nature that you uuote. The letter was puoaisned exactly as it reached, this odioe. why you shou.d on state that wo had not published a letter which had appeared in our columns three days before, I am at a loss to understand.
