Mrs John Fuller left lost week to spend a few weeks in Sydney. Mrs C. Statham (Dunedin) is in town, Miss Drodio (\\ anganui) is staying a-t the Grand.

Mr and Mrs Bell, and Mr and Mrs j. if. Stevens <Palmerston North) are staying at tho llotcl Windsor. Mr and Mrs Howard Booth (Carterton) and Mr and Mrs Baird (Masterton) are staying at the Grand Hotel.

Mrs and Misa Baigent (Nelson) are in town, and arc staying at the Hotel Windsor.

Mrs Sidey (Dunedin) arrived from the south on Sunday, and is staying at “Caulfield House," Sydney street. Mr and Mrs Dryden (Auckland), Mrs Simmons and Miss Brewer aro among tho guests at tho Grand Hotel.

Mr and Airs McKay, who have been staying in town, returned to Blenheim yesterday. Mrs Howells (Invercargill) is paying a visit to Wellington, end is tho guest ot her sister, Mrs Henry Hall, Hill street. Mrs Thompson (Ballancc) is expected to-day on a visit to her mother. Lady Osborno-Gibbes.

Mrs T. Lindsay Buick, who loft Dannevirke on Saturday for Wellington; where she and Mr Buick intend residing for some time, was entertained at a farewell gathering on Thursday afternoon at Miss Morgan’s residence, Victoria avenue, by Miss Morgan, Miss Wiltshire, and Mrs W. Mason. Progressive euchro was played by the fifty guests present, the otherwise very pleasant proceedings being tinged with a note of sadness by the genuine expressions of regret expressed by her friends at the departure of Mrs Buick from their midst. Mr Buick comes to Wellington in a few days. A very pleasant afternoon tea was given yesterday by Mrs Fossette, in Honour of her guest, Mrs Mayeugarb, of Dunedin. A large number of guests were present, among them being Mesdames Cathio, McEldowney, James Brown, Longmoro. Reid, Br&dley, Lew, Morwood. Grant, Campbell, and Palmer, Misses Cathio (2), Harte, and McEldownoy. Mrs Fossette was wearing a very pretty gown of block chiffon taffeta, relieved with white; Mrs Mayengarb’s handsome drees was of the same material; tho Misses Fossette were in white. Spring flowers were in profusion on tho tea tables, and the drawingroom was sweet with its decorations of violets and ftreesias. Some very interesting competitions took place during the afternoon. Miss McEldowney being the winner, while the four ladies who almost tied and also won prizes were 'Mrs Mayeugarb, Mrs Bradley, Mrs Palmer, and Miss Harte.
