MR. BORNEO GARDINER

COMPLIMENT ART CONCERT. Everything is prepared for the complimentary concert to be given in tho Town Hall next Monday evening as a compliment to Mr Borneo Gardiner. As is well known, Mr Gardiner is a very expert and musical whistler, and has generously given valuable assistance at concerts in Wellington and tho neighbourhood in support of many a worthy cause. It is confidently anticipated that tho public will Sow make liberal response to the call for a packed hall. The programme is in itself somciont to attract a largo audience. The guest of tho evening will whistle a German “Waltz Song” and Chaminade’s "L’Eto.” Tho Professional Orchestra, conducted by Mr Herbert Bloy, will play Mendelssohn’s overture "Rny Bias” and the bracketed numbers “Hungarian Dance” (Brahms.) and Sullivan’s ’’Graceful Dance from Henry Vil.” There will also bo a cornet solo by Mr J. Parker, humorous items by Messrs Kenny, Newton. Gardiner and Parsons, songs by Miss Thelma Peterson, Miss Teresa McEnroe, Messrs R. 9. Allwright, E. J. Hill, 11. N. Fletcher, J. A. Doherty, and others, a musical monologue by Mr Zanto Wood, choruses by the Orphans Glee Party, a dramatic recital by Mr J. C. BeH. and an instrumental trio by Messrs i Truda, Cohen, and Moschini. Seats may be reserved at the Dresden.
