MEETING OF COUNCIL. The city council mot last evening. There were present: Tho Mayor (Mr I). McLaren), and Councillors K. Fletcher, B. J. Fitzgerald, A. H. Hindmarsh, J. Fuller, VV. Barber, J. Godber, A. R. Atkinson, J. Trevor, Q. Frost, F. Cohen, E. TTegear, J. Smith, L. McKenzie, and Lr Cameron. FINANCE AND PROPERTY. On the recommendation of the finance and property committee, it was resolved: That the Kilbirnre .Ratepayers' Association be informed, in reply to their' request that tho council obtain an extension of time from Parliament for the completion of the Kiibirnio reserve, that it is too late to get a local Bill through. Parliament, and that they will have to get the Government to undertake it. That accounts amounting to 565,337 15s 7d be passed for payment. POWER STATIONS. AND TRAMWAYS. Recommendations by the power stations and tramways committee were adopted as follow: - That the compulsory tram etop at the foot of Majoribanks street, at the City Motel corner, bo abolished 'That a waiting shed be erected at the Wadestown tram terminus, the cost (estimated at JM) to be charged to the Wadesiown tramway loan account.
