ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
PRESS ASSOCIATION. DHNEDIN, July 25. About 9 o’clock this morning, Arthur Somerville, a young man who came from Middlemarch a few days ago, jumped from the wharf into the bay. having provionsly loaded his pockets with stones. He was rescued by » boatman, and appeared at the Police Court later on. The police stated that he had explained his rash conduct by stating that he could mot sleep, had lost his will power, and had lost his religion. He was remanded for a week, during which time he will be placed under medical observation.
