A TIMELY HINT
I f.hinlc the New Zealand Government might ao more in the interest of the poultry industry of this country by aflorttui" young persons opportunities for studying the same (says a correspondent to tne Auckland "neraid"). Tno only cnance a perdon has is to go as a student on one of the poultry stations, such as Ituakura, ituruham, or Milton. The students aro received under the following conditions: —They receive no wages, and must pay their own travelling expenses, and. also pay their own board and lodgings, as no Government accommodation is available at the stations. Mow many young people of this city can afford to do this? I think the (Jovernment migat have a correspondence school, and charge a small fee, and every year have an examination on the year's work, and award, certificates, and on special occasion* gold medals, i believe much good con be done in poultry culture with great economic advantages to the Ilommion, and social culture to the young who wish to pursue a useful and innocent hobby.
