. MONTHLY MEETING. The. Wellington Harbour Board met last evening. Present: Messrs It. iietcher C. hi. Daiiieii, J. C. Lobue, A. Maofarlane, J. K. hitzgerald, J. Trevor, lt,'C. itenner, P. C. rreeth, W. T. Hildreth, . C.. W. Jones; Leave of absence was granted to Messrs Coiyn and Harkncss.

I'a.y meats passed for the month amounted to J835.925.19s 7d, of tv Inch interest, sinking- fund, accounts, and wages accounted for .£33,265 2s lOd. CHAIKM-4-N’S REPORT.

The chairman reported that as provided by the agreement of September 2lst, 1908, between the Wellington Harbour Board, and the Miramar Borough Council, the council had paid the second oi five annual .payments ot .£IOOO as subsidy in connec-: tion with the board's works at Miramar. After consultation with the representatives of the employees, the tender of Mr W. -T. Quinton had , teen .accepted for uniforms ,for the twelve months ending. June 30th, 1913, and the tender of Messrs Charles Hill and Sou for uniform caps for the same period. WHARVES COMMITTEE.

The wharves and accounts committee recommended : the board :

To fix 11 a.m. Friday, September ,6th, 1912, as time and date for public drawing at the board’s offices of twenty JtlOO debentures,-part of board’s j6BsU,lfu<J consolidated, loan, for redemption on February 23 th, 1913; to . appoint Mr Thomas Sh-iler Weston to act aa notary public at the drawing. To call‘for tenders for two motor lorries for carriage of goods on wharves. To make the tollowmg amending bylaws: —(a) Fixing, the transhipment rate for manures, guano, phosphates, etc., at 2s 3d per, ton; (b) . fixing transhipment rates for timber, hardwoods at 4s 2d per ton, other, timber at'3s per ton; (c) exempting frozen fish for local consump-' tion from payment of inward wharfage. (Fresh 1 fish is now exempt from wharfage.) That owing to the absence from the Dominion of Mr J. G. Harkness, who, at the June board meeting, made certain statements as to the efficiency of the administration and the staff, the matter bo postponed until Mr.Harkncse returns. The clause regarding motor lorries was rejected on tbo casting rote of the chairman. ,
