MAGISTRATES COURT
SATURDAY JULY 20,
(Before Mr TV. G. BiddeU, S.M.) ALLEGED ASSAULT.
Thomas Patrick Pritchard was charged with assaulting Neil McDougall on July 16th so as to cause him actual bodily harm. Evidence was given that accused, who was discharged tram the Morayshire on July 16th, was, whilst intoxicated, ordered off the ship bv McDougall, the quartermaster. Afterwards McDOugall was seen to be hopping about on one leg and ho had to bo removed to the hospital suffering from a dislocated knee-cap. The chief officer of tho ship stated that he had heard that Pritchard had kicked McDougall, but he had not scon the occurrence.
As the injured man was not able to be present accused was remanded until the 2ith inst.
Thomas O’Sullivan, for insobriety, war ordered to pay medical expenses, ■£! is, and on a charge of assaulting Patrick Duffy was remanded until to-day. THE WILLIS STREET BURGLARY. Albert Stockbridge, the person who wiu arrested by Detectives Lewie and Andrews on Friday on a charge of breaking and entering tho premises of F. Cooper, Ltd., Willis street, on Thursday night, was remanded until to-day.
A WIFE’S PETITION. Mrs Mary Marshment applied for separation, maintenance, and guardianship orders to be made against her husband, Alfred James Marshment, on the ground of persistent cruelty. Mr P. W. Jackson appeared for plaintiff and Mr A. Fair for defendant. After hearing evidence his Worship reserved decision.
