COMMERCE CONGRESS
(Received July 12, 0.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, July 11. The Chambers of Commerce Congress carried resolutions approving of the movement for a trade mark to denote that goods are manufactured or produced in the British Empire, that the Commonwealth Government be requested to open negotiations with the British, Canadian, and New Zealand Govern' mente for acquiring control of a cable across the Atlantic from Canaula t& Britain, affirming the desirableness ol an amendment of the conditions of fire insurance poicies to cover loss or damage by fire in consequence of strikers' riots and civil commotions. It was alsc decided to approach the fire underwriter* on the subject.
