A SPLENDID GIFT BY WIDOW OF MOUNT AIORGAN AULLIONAIRE. Ry Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received May 23, 9.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, Alay 23. Under the will of the late Air W. R. Hall, of Alount Alorgan mine fame, whose estate is valued at several millions, £60,000 is left to charities in New South Wales and Queensland. The widow, as residuary legatee, has now decided to devote the income from a million sterling to charities, one-half going to New South Wales and one quarter each to Queensland and Victoria. Trustees will be appointed to administer the gift. “Charity” is defined as the relief of poverty, advancement of the Anglican religion, advancement of education, and the general benefit of the community, with the stipulation that onehalf of the income is to be devoted to women and children.
