APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS
MB D. J. NATHAN, OF WELLINGTON, INCLUDED. SUCCEEDS ME BEAUCHAMP. Mr W. Milne, of Oamaru, has been reappointed as one of the directors representing the Government on the directorate of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mr D. J. Nathan, of Wellington, has been appointed a director in succession to Mr Harold Beauchamp, whoso term of, office has expired. Mr David J. Nathan is one of Wellington’s most prominent business men. Ho is fifty-four years old, and a son of Mr Joseph Edward Nathan, with whoso business he has been connected since leaving college, being now a managing director of the important concern. Mr Nathan found time ■ during ' his busy career to serve for three years on the Wellington City Council, on the Harbour Board, and as president of the Chamber of Commerce for three years, also presiding over the conference of combined chambers. He is chairman of directors of the Wellington 'Gas Company, and is on, the of many other important public companies, while he held a similar position on the board of the Wellington and Mdnawatu Railway Company before the undertaking was purchased by the Government. Tlie chairman of the board is to be elected at tho first meeting, which is held in April.
