self-a'bnegation should be PRACTISED. PHESS ASSOCIATION. CHKISTCHURCH, March 6. The Hon. T. Mackenzie passed through Christchurch this morning on his way to Dunedin. A question regarding his own future elicited tho following reply:—“X am content to take any position tile party thinks L ought to occupy, after it has exhaxistively considered all the circumstances. My own opinion is that at a time like the present every member of the pui’ty ought to practise self-abnegation; each ought to he prepared to do what is most likely to settle difficulties and advance tho cause of Liberalism.”
