THE WEATHER PROSPECTS
GENERAL FORECAST FOR TO-DAY. (By tho Dominion Meteorologist.) Present indications (5 p.m.' Wednesday) are for heavy rain in many parts of the country, and unsettled weather generally —thunderstorms in parts. Northerly winds will probably veer tor high westerlies northward of Kawhia and East Cape, moderate to strong easterlies backing to south-easterlies and increasing elsewhere. The barometer has a falling tendency, but will probably rise everywhere after from 10 to 16 hours. (Details on shipping page.)
