FOOTBALL.

SOUTHERN CLUB. About seventy njembcra of the Southern Club attended the annual meeting, which ■was held at Godber's Cuba street rooms last night. The president of the club. Mr E. J. Fitzgibhon, was in the chair. The report and balancd-shect were adopted after brief discussion, in the cflurae of which the chairman remarked that the club would adhere to Its policy of encourIng the younger members rather than seeking adventitious aid from outsiders. He congratulated the club upon having a credit balance of £36. .Seventeen new members were elected. The following officers wore elected for the 1912 season: —Patron, Mr J. P. Luke; president, Mr K. On the motion of Mr Mortenson it was decided to reduce the subscriptions to the following scale;—Senior 12s 6d. junior 10s. third-class 7s 6d. fourth-class ss, fifth-class 2s 6d, sixth-class nothing. It was decided to commence training on Saturday week, the grounds to be advertised. .

ORIENTAL CLUB. Tho Oriental Club held its annual meeting at Godber’s rooms, Cuba street, last night, about fifty members being present. Mr W. H. Nimmo, the club president, was in the chair. Little: auditors, Messrs O. A. Wilkes %nd F. Alien. PONEKB CLUB. The twenty-ninth annual meeting of the Poneke Football Club was held last night. Dr A. K. Newman presided over a large attendance. The report and balance-sheet, a summary ef which has already been published, were adopted. Fourteen new members were elected. The following officers were elected to hold office during the coming season: President, Dr A. K. Newman (re-elected); vice-presi-dents, Messrs W. H. Robinson, W. W. Johnston (Wanganui), H. Griffiths; treasurer, O. Mitchell (reflected); secretary R. B. Magee (re-elected); auditors, A. F. Wiren and W. Hood; delegatee to Rugby Union, E. H. Dawson, Q. Lusk, and R. B. Magee; gymnasium committee, A. F. Wiren, 0. Mitchell, and N. Wilkinson; selection committee, A. Griffiths, J. Pudney, and captain of first fifteen (to be elected); committee, A. Morrish, H. Elliott, C. Slater, «j. Pudney, and B. Calcinai. The delegates to the union were instructed to move in the direction of having fixtures adhered to as drawn. Dr Newman announced that he would give four 'medals and Mr W. H. Robinson Would give two more for competition by th l ' junior players.
