RESCUE FROM FIRE
MOUNT EDEN SENSATION, CHILDREN ESCAPE WITH J?HE£R LIVES. PRESS ASSOCIATION, AUCKLAND, December 8. A fire in Edeh street. Mount Ekien, last night destroyed a six-roomed house occupied bv Mrs R- Riley.' Two neighbours observed the outbreak and found Mrs Rilev lying on tho verandah of-the burning building in her night afctiro in a semi-conscious state’. She murmured there wero three children in tho build- - ing, and then collapsed. One child, a son of Mrs Martin (who is Mrs Riley's sister), was rescued from the back room. He was severely burned and was taken to the hospital. One other little boy was found suffering from burns, but less severely. A third child, a little girl, escaped without injury. Mrs Riley is suffering' severely from shock. Tho origin of tho fire is unknown.
