An investigation regarding tho methods of the Anti-Trust League lias been demanded in tho House of Representatives. One representative (Air Littleton) charged tho league’s secretary with attempting to defame him. Tho league asked for Mr Littleton’s impeachment on a charge of conspiracy with the heads of tho trusts in order to prevent tho Steel Trust inquiry. Tho debate is proceeding. Both parties have assured Air Littleton of their confidence in him. PRESIDENT TAFT’S AIESSAGE. IMPORTANT’MEASURES FORECASTED. NEW YORK, December 5. President Taft’s message to Congress deals with the trust problem. It forecasts amendments of an important nature. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER. SUIT AGAINST THE COMPANY FAILS. NEW YORK, December 5. The suit against tho National Cash Register Company, charging it-with being a combination in restraint of trade, failed. , PRESIDENT TAFT AND THE SHERMAN LAAA r . President Taft’s objection to tho repeal of the Sherman Anti-Trust Law recorded in his message to Congress, is generally approved by tho leaders of both parties, although Democrats would have preferred his first message to deal with tariff questions.
