By Tolecrapii—Press Association —Copyright.

(Received December 3, 5.5 p.m.)

BRISBANE, December 2,

Ten thousand people attended the match between the Marylebono team and a Queensland eleven to-day. The Englishmen resumed their first innings, Hearno (15) and Mead (13), the notout men, facing tho Queensland bowling. The visitors gave a splendid defensive display, though the scoring was occasionally painfully slow. Mead and Rhodes played brilliantly. The innings closed for 275 runs, 15 fewer than were made in Queensland’s first innings. The bowling was good, that of McLaren, Cook, and Hayes particularly. The fielding was also good. The Queenslanders opened their second innings confidently, scoring freely. Jennings was splendidly caught in the early part of the innings, but it was off a no-ball. When stumps were drawn for the day two wickets had fallen for 65 runs. The howling and fielding of the Englishmen were sound. Scores: ENGLAND—First Innings.
