MISSIONS TO SEAMEN

iTo the Editor "17.2. Times.") Sir, —May I through the medium of your valuable paper bring before the residents of Wellington the needs of the work, of the Missions to Seamen. Years ago Mr James Moore commenced work among sailors at this port, and owing to tho generous support of the residents. and his own splendid efforts a great work has been carried on, both spiritually and socially.' Owing to Mr Moore's great labours he suffered a very severe breakdown at the beginnings of this year which necessitated his going to England for a time. In consequence, the financies of the mission have suffered very, much, and the committee are faced with serious difficulties. A bazaar has been arranged to be held from November 15th to ISth, and we would specially appeal, to all friends of sailors to help with a gift or a donation. Any gift, however small, will be gratefully acknowledged by the Missioner.—l am, etc., F. S. SHELL; - Missioner. October 11th, 1911. __
