Mr Schuster, the American financial expert engaged in reorganising Persian finances,- after notifying the Russian Minister, sent a hundred gendarmes, under the command of an American oflfeer to seize Shus-rs-Sultaneh’s property. The Cossacks retired and the Russian Consul protested, aleging that the property was mortgaged to the Russian bank.
A cable message received on Tuesday stated that tho Russian consulate officials, with twelve cossaoks, threatened to tiro on gendarmes sent at tho instance of klr Shuster, who is reorganising tho finances, to seize Shus-es-Sultaneh's property. Tho gendarmes withdrew.
