THE ARBITRATION ACT
AUCKLAND WATERSIDE WORKERS TALK CANCELLATION. PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, October 11. At a special meeting of members _of tbo Auckland Waterside Workers’ Union to-day it was decided to take, a ballot between Tuesday, October 16th, and Saturday. October 21st. on the question of cancellation under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act and registration with the New Zealand Federation of Labour. A number of the men contended that it is useless goir\g before the Arbitration Court with demands for betterment of existing conditions, and a strong feeling prevailed in favour of cutting adrift from the Arbitration Court to give the workers a free hand in pursuing iho redress of grievances until satisfaction is obtained.
