Mr and Mrs Henry Hall arc leaving on Friday on a trip to Australia. MV and Mrs \V. Hume (Foxton) are on a visit to Wellington, and arc staying at the Koval Oak. A ,verv largo number were present yesterday afternoon at the sale of flowers, honie-mado sweets, cakes, etc., held in the Nurses’ Home, Willis street. Business was very brisk and everything was ♦.old very speedily. The flowers were very beautiful, a large number coming up from Christchurch. Tho demand far exceeded tho supply. Excellent afternoon tea and fruit salad were supplied. Miss Thelma Peterson, of Carterton, th© gifted contralto, is to give a concert in Palmerston North some time this month.
