MR BIDET'S MEASURE. The Petitions Committee, reporting on« petition praying that the Daylight Saving Bill bo allowed to pass through Parliament, recommended that , the petition ba referred to the Government for consideration. The committee added that there was no evidence to show, that the Bill would be of any advantage to the people in the country districts. When the report was brought down Ml F. .11. B. Fisher moved, as an amendment, that the petitions be referred t« the Labour Bills Committee, before which the Bill was now. "It is not before any committee at all this year," corrected a member. "Ob," said Hr Fisher, "I misnnder stood the position." (Laughter.) Mr Poole said the matter was o) so much importance that the Government ought to take the Bill up and put it through.
