Referring in bis speech at Dundee to the fight over the Veto Bill, Lord Haldane said the King made no bargain with tho Government, which had not asked for any pledge. Tho King had-said: “What tho country decides, that will ! accept.” When the Lords threatened tho rejection of the Bill tho King wisely handed to Minister* his assent to tho creation of peers.
