COURT OF APPEAL

ORDER OF BUSINESS REVISED. The Court of Appeal resumed yesterday morning. On the bench were his Honor Sir Joshua Williams (presiding judge), their Honors Mr Justice'Edwards and Mr Justice Chapman. Tho order for hearing of cases was revised as follow To-day. The Land Transfer Act, 1903. and the Native Land Act, 1903, in the matter of the Kopaatuaki block. Corley v. Corley. To-morrow. Tairoa Golden Hills Co. v. McKano and others. Motion under Law Practitioners Act in re J. R. Lnndou, solicitor. OTHER CASE! Motion under tho Law Practitioners Act. 1908, in the matter of Waiter Wilkes, solicitor. Taituma Marangataua and others v. Fatena Keren! and another. William Schmidt and William Bellshaw v. Willie Greenwood (further argument). SCOTCH OR DOMINION LAAV? Further argument was hoard in tho case of John George Alexander Laird and others v. -Githa Enid Fergusson and Thomas Coldham Williams, a case removed from the Supreme Court. The action is one to secure performance of a marriage contract entered into by the defendant, Githa Enid Ferguston, prior to her marriage with Captain Ferguison in Scotland in 1901. At tho time of making the contract defendant was a minor. The questions now arose (1) W hsther the contract was governed by Scotch or .by New Zealand law; (-) if governed by New Zealand law, had defendant disaffirmed the settlement within a reasonable time . after attaining her majority. Mr 11, D. Bell, K-C*. with him Mr H. P. Richmond, of Auckland, appeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr J. R. Reed, of Auckland, with him Dr Bamford, for the defendants. Legal argument was heard on both sides, after which the court reserved its decision. ,
