NORTHERN TERRITORY
THE FIRST WHEAT CROP. A SATISFACTORY RESULT. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright PERTH, August 4. The first sample of wheat grown in the Northern Territory, near Port Darwin, has been received here. Indian seed was used. Without rain, irrigation, or manure/it yielded fifteen bushels to the acre. The result is considered highly promising for the agricultural development of the Territory.
