, August 4. ■ The members ot the Presßyteriai Church presented Mi;s Schmidt with a silver tea-pot and Mr Schmidt with a thermo flask. Mr and Mrs Schmidt have done good work for the church here. They are leaving Shannon for the Main Trunk line whore Mr,Schmidt has been appointed manager in a large sawmill. Miss Laurvig, organist of the church, was presented with a Silver-Backed _ comb and brush as a token of appreciation of the services rendered ,by her. Messrs Law, Ryrie, Tucker, Gundy, Bag, Galland. Hensman, Cameron and Pargher, were appointed managers of the presbytery, for the ensuing term. The. Methodists of Shannon are preparing for a grand garden fete to be held by them on the 17th and IBth inst. The affair promises to bo something out of tue trdinary-
Brother Gardiner presented the local DmidsModgo with an Arch Druid's robe, and Brother Bildenbcoh donated a sword and a crook. ,
