THOUSANDS CLAIMED
CUSTOMS V. IMPORTER ALLEGED EVASION OP DUTIES. Civil proceedings have teen instituted by the Customs Department against tiro Australian Kodak Company, Ltd., of Willis street, Wellington, for the recovery of duties on ini ports and penalties for alleged evasion of full payments of duty. The total sum involved on all the claims made amounts to about .£19,000, covering the company's operations with tho Customs Department for a period of two or three years. The Customs Department's writ against tho company was served yesterday upon Mr Beauchamp, the manager of the company's branch in AVelliugton,
