ADVANCE IN FINANCE AND MEMBERSHIP.
,A substantial advance in friendly 'Society work is recorded in the annual report of tho Registrar of Friendly Societies. Tho membership at the end of 1910 reached 68,006, an increase of 3.99 pea - cent., a most satisfactory result when it is remembered that the rate of increase had dropped to 427 iu. the previous year. Finance, according to the report, is even more gratifying, the total funds of the societies being J 31.367.252, representing -030 2s Id per head. This while not implying complete puts New Zealand societies into a position of pre-eminence among the friendly societies of the world..
