A MURDERED MISSIONARY
SHOT DEAD WHILE CONDUCTING SERVICE.

The steamer Miniudi has arrived from the Islands. She brought particulars of the murder of the Rev. Mr Daniels, a member of the South Sea Evangelical Mission at Uru, in the Solomon Islands. He hod almost concluded an open-air evening service when a native, who had been concealed, shot him in the breast. The missionary cried, “Lord, save mel” and fell dead.
A cable message sent from Brisbane on Tuesday stated that .Mr Daniels was shotdead while sitting on the verandah of his house.
