Mr Robert Gallen, of Matarawa, is laid up with a serious attack of pneumonia. A proposal is afoot to form a Savage Club in Carterton.
At a meeting of tho Liberal football Club last evening, at Featherston, it was decided that both tho junior and thirdclass teams shonld take part in tho third round for tho Wairarapa Rugby Union’s championship. Tho health of Miss Inly Ilodder, of Featherston, is improving. Miss Hodderj is under tho care of Dr Smyth, at his private hospital, Carterton. It is understood that, as the result of urgent representations made by Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P., to tho PostmasterGeneral, tenders are to be called immediately for a tri-weekly mail service to tho Carrington settlement.
Miss O’Sullivan, of the millinery department of tho Martin borough branch of tho W.F.C.A., has accepted an appointment with a firm at Gisborne.
