A third by-election is necessary, owing to tho illness of Mr D. Macdonell, Colonial Secretary and member for Cobar, who was unable to attend the House last session.

Tlirough an oversight no leave was obtained for him, therefore tho scat has become vacant.

Tho Liberals had a sample of Labour’s troublous times when Mr J. Miller, M.L.A. for Bathurst, placed his resignation in Mr Wade’s hands owing to Mr Wade’s stating that Mr Miller had not “played tho game” by voting for the second reading of Mr Beeby’e Industrial Bill. Explanations followed, and the resignation went no further.
