SENSIBLE HOUSEWIFE ceourc V / L-*-' SERVES tftcUed, BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING RAILWAY PROJECTS IN TURKEY, Although many railway projects in Asia Minor are attracting,, attention, those in European Turkey arc, perhaps, of the greatest importance. Foremost amongst these is the projected Hue from. Tirnovo to Koraferia, which, will connect the Turkish railway system with that of Greece, and to which the Turkish Government has hitherto had a strong objection, although it is likely to prove a great boon to both countries. Tirnovo is the terminus of the Piraeus-Lariesa railway, and from there the new lino will proceed via Elaasona and Serfidsche to Ivarafcria, a station on the Salonica-Monastir railway. The new railway will be ordinary gauge, but from the Ibili station a narrow-gauge railway is projected to Janissa, the .capital 01 Epirus. These new lines will materially improve the system of communication on Uie Balltan Peninsula. The Danube-Adria/' or the Drintal railway,'at last appears likely to become a reality, although not in conformity with the wishes of Servia. Instead of proceeding from the 'Turkish frontier station of Merdara, the Turkish authorities want the railway to start from Oskub, so that the Drintal railway may prove a connection between the Bulgarian portion of the Danube and the Adriatic, should the lino Kumanovo-Kustenclil, between the Turkish and the Bulgarian railway systems, be constructed. In addition to these two important railway prolochs, some additional smaller lines havo been decided upon, or are under considerition. Amonst these arc a branch line an the Oriental railway from Burbapki to Kioklise, and a line Kwella-Drama, through the tobacco-growing district. 3lhcr schemes appear to have been Shelved for the present, including the important aamlschnlf mil wn v.—' ,
