coastal steamer Tainui, intend to inaugurate a bi-weekly Wel Ungt on-Patea-Wai-tara sendee ■ with the Tainui. The new scheme is to start iu November. The vessel will call at Patca on her way to and ii'om Waitaja. Although not fitted with insulated space, the agents state if inducement ottered such space would be provided. The Tainui has a cargo capacity of 120 tons measurement on a draugat ol 7ft 6in.

THE WARRIMOO FROM SYDNEY. The Warrimoo arrived in the stream at Wellington at 9.44 o'clock yesterday morning alter a good passage from Sydney direct. Pratique was granted, and the vessel berthed at No. 6, Queen's wiiart. Tho Warrimoo left Sydney at noon on Saturday, and experienced light variable winds and smooth seas until Monday. Then northerly and north-westerly winds and considerable following sea prevailed till arrival. The Kamona, bound Irom Newcastle to Thursday Island, was sighted at noon on Sunday heading for Sydney for repairs. The Mimiro was passed at 8 p.m. on Sunday, aud the .Manuka, at 11 p.m. on Sunday. The Warrimoo is to leave Wellington at 5 p.m. to-day for southern ports, Hobart and Melbourne. RUAPEHU HEAVES COLOMBO. In continuation of her voyage from London, via Suez Canal, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Ruapehu resumed her voyage from Colombo on Tuesday last. The vessel mil next call at Hobart, where she is due about the 16th instant. About 800 tons of cargo will be dischaiged at Hobart, where the vessel will stay for about two days. She should reach Wellington alK>ut the 22ud or 23rd instant.
