Mr Horatio Bottomley’s appeal against the decision of the Ring’s Bench ,in the Master case has been dismissed.
Lord Justice Vaughan Williams dissented, considering -that Master was a mere gambler.
.Lord Justice Moulton stated that Bottomley induced Master to purchase worthless shares in the John Bull Investment Company. Lords Shaw and Buckley agreed with Lord Moulton. Bottomley will appeal to a higher court.
. Mrs Eleanor Ourtis. executrix of the will of her father, the late R. Master, retired Civil servant, sued Mr Horatio Bottomley. M.P. for South Hackney, for £57,835, alleged to have been, obtained by selling’ deceased worthless shares. Defendant denied (misrepresentation. ’A verdict was given for plaintiff, with £50.000 damages. A stay of execution ■was granted on condition that th©' fall amount of damages was paid into court.
