Tho report of tho conference on Imperial defence has been published.
It is that the InspectorGeneral of Oversea. Forces only inspects tho Dominions’ forces by invitation of the Governments concerned. Tho inspectors functions include the inflection of coastal defences, but lie is not to interfere with local military policy or schemes unless invited to do so.
DEFENCE COMMITTEE’S PROPOSAL.
COLONIAL STUDENTS FOR STAFF COLLEGE. (Received' August 1, 11 p.m.) LONDON, August 1. The Defence Committee has recommended an increase of accommodation in the Staff College at Oamberley to enable not less than fourteen overseas officers to bo admitted annually, the Dominions contributing to tho increased cost on tlio basis of an animal per capita payment for each student of approximately £‘2oo.
