GUESSING COMPETITION.
STONE AT THE EXHIBITION. The guessing compo.* ..on as to the weight of the big stono in the Kohatu Quarry Company's stall at the Coronation Exhibition was settled yesterday through the medium of the Harbour Board’s weighbridge at the foot of tho King’s wharf.. The stone weighed 18cwt 2qrs 141 b and the winner of the prise is Miss k Lily Tilbury, 2. Athol Crescent. Tho guesses varied from under 21b to 1,000.000 tons. Arrangements were made to present the big stone and most of the others to the Harbour Board, and such was tho honesty of the hoard's employee that fonrponce. the price of the weighbridge ticket, had to bo thrown in. The board has now the privilege of saying -that it has bought somewhere over a ton and a half of tho best metal around "Wellington for fourpence The winner of tho prize may obtain it from It. VT. Lloyd’s shop on Lambton Quay, upon production of an order from the company. This may be had at the offices of the company at 201, Lambton quay.
