MINISTER IN THE SOUTH.
j PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN - , July 31. The Hon. T. Mackenzie laid the foundation etoue of the new post office at Kaitaagata. Messia Watson, Ehodea and Sou, of Dunedin, are the contractors, and the price is £2169 14s Id. At the luncheon, replying to the toast of the Government, Hr Mackenzie said that they were endeavouring to do the best they could in the interests of the whole people. When they went wrong Mr James Alien would tell them all about it. Then members of the Government would go on tiro platform to show what fine feathers they had, and the Opposition . feathers would, get considerably bedraggled. The truth would be found between, the two. The Government were not so bad as they were painted by the Opposition; and were perhaps not so good as their friends made them out to be.
