pei-.ss ABeocuxic::. NELSON, July 31. The youth who, hy his lather's orders, refused to register for military service because of conscientious scruples, has paid the-fine, and is leaving Neiv Zealand by the Tongariro to avoid compliance with the Defence Act.
. The youth, whoso name is Peter Thompson. was fined £5 in tile Nelson Magistrate's Court on July 22nu for refusing to register. Thomson intimated that he was willing to register, hut his lather forbade him to do bo. stating that tie law of Christ came first.
