PUNITIVE EXPEDITION
TO BE DISPATCHED TO ASSAM. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. CALCUTTA, July 27. An expedition numbering two- thousand men will leave early in October .to punish the murderers 'of Mr Williamson. A British peaceful mission, under. Hr Noel WUldamson,. a poltioal officer, was massacred at Sadiyo, in. last by the Abacs tribesmen. Only iour persons escaped. It was stated by friendly tribesmen that Mr Williamson was bound and mutilated. A detachment of military polio© was aenst to Finish the mnrdorora, but was stopped at by swollen riyera. It was then sta-tod that the despatch, of an expedition would have to be postponed till the cold weather sot in.
