WHY ?
Whv do birds of prey build their nests 'on dofty and .barren rocks?, 'Their predatory nature seems to impel them to make their homes away from those of other creatures. They affect tho Wildest retreats from Which to issue and hunt down their prey. An elevated situation, gives them a better view of their quarry, and the bajreinness of tixe soil protects their eggs from tho xontihs which would make them their prey. Cliffs overhanging the sea, deep lakes or rivers, afford to them facilities for taking fish, of which tho falcon tribe in pai-tkrular is very fond. - % « #
