Tho German Emperor is said always to wear one special ring, which ho regards as a mascot. The story of the ring is that a toad went into/i ho room of Elector John of Brandcburg, deposited, a stone before him, and 'disappeared. Even since then the stone has been, regarded as. one of the chief treasures of the HohenzolloriTfamily, though it is of no intrinsic value. It was mounted in a ring many years ago, and since then the ring has always been worn by the head of the house ■ of Hohonzollern. Tim STUDENTS ANT) LOVEES 01 ■ E; ' THE SCEIPTHEBS.
