During the fortnight ended July 12t> thirty-two applications were made to the City Council for permission to erect, alter or extend, buildings, and in twentysix instances plans were examined and approved and permits issued. The estimated value of tho work was as follows:City. £5577; Melroso, JC4152: total, *£13,729. .
