The engagement is an non need of Mr If. G. Grace, 2lst Cavalry Frontier Force, North-west Provinces, India, eldest son of Ven. Archdeacon Grace, Blenheim, to Miss E. Macdonald, second daughter of Mr J. W. Macdonald, Kensington, London. Mrs P. Andrew (Nelson) is on a visit to Wellington, and is staying at the Royal Oak. Miss Ulrich, of Dunedin, passed through Wellington on route for Napier, whore sho will bo visiting friends. Mr and Mrs Lever have taken. Mr C. B. Russell's furnished house in Tinatori road. Mr and Mrs Sunderland and Mrs O. Nelson (Hastings) aro staying at the Grand Hotel. Miss L. Lucas (Nelson) is on a visit to Wellington. Miss Florence (Blenheim) is on a visit to FeUding, where she is staying with Mrs Peat. Mr and Mrs Gwynno Potts (Wanganui) are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr and Mrs Kelson, who have been spending a few days in Wellington, have returned U> Waikanae. Mrs J. Wood (Stoko, Nelson) is on a visit to Wellington. Miss Maysmoro, who has been staying in Danuovirko with Mrs Harold Hanliu, has returned to Wellington. Mrs T. Grosso (Hastings) left by tho Athonic yesterday for England. Mr and Mrs J. T. Faulkner (Hastings) are staying at the Grand Hotel. Miss Bridge has gone on a visit to Blenheim, where sho is staying with Mrs Ciouston. Mr and Mrs Dali, who have been visiting Auckland, have returned to Wellington. Miss Ward has gone on a visit to Nelson, where shci is the guest of Mrs F. Richmond. Mr and Mrs Glendinning (Wairoa) ore staying at tho Grand. Miss Dora Booth (Nelson), who arrived yesterday, ia staying - with Mrs L. G. Reid. Mr and Mrs Baynes (Takapuna) are staying at tho Royal Oak. Mrs A. R. Hislop has gone on a visit to Master-ton. Mr and Mrs Button (Christchurch) are staying at tho Grand Hotel.Mrs Thompson (Wairarapa) is staying at tho Occidental Hotel. Mr and Mrs W. B. Chennells (Masterton) are staying at Dio Windsor.
Miss Reilly (Hawera.) is visiting Wellington.
Mr and Mrs McGregor (Greytown) are staying at the Grand.
A quiet wedding took place last Wednesday at tho English Church, White's Lino, when Mists Agnes GampOell, fifth dughtor of tho late Mr Huston Campbell, of Wainni-o-mata, was married to Mr Edward McGrath, of Timam, the Rev. Joshua Jones officiating. Tho bride, who was given away by her broth-er-in-law, Mr J. Hunter, looked pretty in a cream striped silk voile, with a tulle veil arranged over a wreath, of orange blossoms. Sho also wore the bridegroom's present, a gold -pendant of rubies and pearls, and carried a shower bouquet. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Mabel McKee, who wore white silk muslin and a large picture hat. The two little nieces of tho bride. Miss Dorothy Hunter and Trixy Kilpatrick, who wore also bridesmaids, were dreysod in white silk, tho bridegroom's gift to them being gold brooches. Mr S. Huntor acted as best man. Later on in tho afternoon Mr and Mrs McGrath left for Napier. Wanganui will be their future home.
On tho occasion of their silver wedding Mr and Mis William Smith, of Wellington, were yesterday presented with a silver salver and a. set of entree dishes by Captains G. Post and G. G. Smith, and Messrs E J. Hill, R. Grange, G. Winder, and A. W. Newton. Mr and Mrs Smith's marriage took place in Dunedin.
