SHOT BY A PEA-RIFLE.
PIIVBS ASSOCIATION. INVERCARGILL, July 13. A lad was taken, to the hospital to-day to have a pea-nilo pellet extracted. 1;. appears that an East road dairyman, had. been missing money from hia nouso ana had set a pea-rifle in such a way as to itotify by an explosion the entrance of anyone by tho fioor through which tho intruder was thought to have come. Tile rifle was not pointing at this door, but tho boy in question got in by some other way, sprung tho trap and received the bullet in. his thigh. _ The bullet was extracted at tho hospital, and serious results are not anticipated.
