' The newspaper “ Zcit ” publishes a remarkable account, given by eye-wit-nesses, of Torgut Shevket Pasha’s attempt to exterminate a hundred thousand Albanian Catholic highlanders by cutting off their food supplies and destroying their flocks, which arc their only capital. Torgut has also foihidden sixteen thousand unarmed Malissori tribesmen, who wintered on the marshy littoral in the Bregnmantira, to leave the district. As a result, malaria is raging among the tribesmen, and their flocks are dying from the foul water in the stagnant marshes.
